PAYMENTS
Payments are securely processed by Shopify Payments. Immediate payment is required to secure the artwork. If you want to purchase the artwork, click on 'Add to Cart'. By clicking 'Cart', you'll be directed to the checkout page to fill in your details, including your delivery address. Payment needs to be made immediately, and you'll be guided through the steps. Once the order is placed, you'll receive a purchase confirmation email. Within 5 business days, the artist arranges the shipment, and you'll be notified with a Parcel Parcel provided tracking code. Upon arrival, you'll need to sign for the artwork. Our sales will be conducted in EUR and all payments are due, and must be made, in EURO. Prices are incl VAT but do not include shipping, insurance and import/export duties and taxes.
SHIPPING
COUNTRIES SHIPMENT
Our artists only ship their artworks within Europe or to specific countries outside Europe, including the United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, and Iceland.
PARCEL PARCEL
Our artists have partnered with Parcel Parcel to ensure high-quality shipping services. Each shipment is insured, tracked, and requires a signature upon delivery. Shipping rates are calculated based on the artwork's size, weight, and delivery location.
TRACKING
Tracking number will be sent to you as soon as your package has been sent out. On arrival, it will need a signature to confirm safe delivery.
PACKAGING
The artists are responsible for packaging the artworks; prints, photographs, textiles, ceramics, and other artworks are wrapped in protective materials. Each artwork will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, verifying its genuineness for future resale and valuation.
TAX
If you reside outside Europe, like in the United Kingdom or elsewhere, there might be additional charges when the artwork arrives in your country. This also applies if an artist lives outside Europe, and you are within Europe. Alter house is not responsible for any taxes or fees incurred during the import of artworks purchased through the platform. It's your responsibility to ensure that the artworks legally enter your country and to cover any necessary fees or charges.
ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES
The shipping costs are estimated based on input from both the artist and you as the art buyer. While these estimates are usually accurate, it's important to note that they may occasionally differ from the actual shipping costs when the artist dispatches the artwork. This can occur, for example, when either the artwork itself or the delivery address has specific requirements. These differences can result in higher costs than initially calculated. In cases where the initially calculated costs are lower than the actual shipping expenses, we'll send a separate invoice outside the platform specifying the additional payment required to the art buyer.
RETURNS
Alter house may cancel a transaction if the artist fails to deliver the artwork. If you encounter any other issues with your purchase, please contact us within 3 days of receiving the artwork through our contact page. We'll make every effort to resolve the issue, potentially arranging store credit for you. The artwork needs to be returned within 7 days of this initial contact, using a tracked and signed delivery service. We'll provide you with the return address. Ensure the artwork is securely packaged and that you cover the shipping costs. If the artwork arrives damaged, we won't be able to issue any store credit.
